Paw Infection

My four yr old Calico has a nasty infection in the pad on her left paw. I took her to my family vet a week ago and they put her on an anti-biotic and it has not healed at all. She favors the paw and it has a terrible odor to the infection. Part of her pad is peeling off and another section is almost white and it is normally pink in color. Any ideas of what might be wrong?
