Fleas

Our cat has become infested with fleas, which she is allergic too. She is acting crazy and scratching till it hurts. WQe have some non-perscription Benadryl allergy capsules, (Diphenhydramine HCI 25mg. Will these help her till we can get her to the vet tomarrow and how much should we give her?
