(Not a Pet Question?)

back problem
Sent to Pet Experts August 27 10:02 AM

My 15 year old female is walking with her lower back closer to the floor. She doesn't seem to be in pain, just a little uncomfortable. Yesterday, when this started, she could only walk a few steps, then sit. No appt available at the vet's until next week. Anything I should do for her?

Try to keep her from having to move much to get to the things she needs. If its a back issue keeping her quiet may help her have time to heal.
You can help her walk with a sling around her chest and abdomen (a towel or strip of cloth or a wide leash doubled around her) if she needs help going out. I'd keep her from doing stairs if at all possible too.
You might try talking to the vet office about needing a sooner appointment based on your dog's condition. Sometimes they will fit you in as an emergency vs a regular appointment.
Hope this helps you!
