our lab retreiver is 1.5 years old.. has been limping for 6 months. has been x-rayed and ultra sound of right shoulder. everything seems fine according to vet. but he still limps. we have done a regiment of prednisone-rested with just leash walking-he was better after pred. and rest-was told to resume moderate activity-but he statrted limping again-give him derramax-seems to help but not alot-tested for lyme dis-

If the vet has not checked him for neck and spine problems that is what I would suggest be looked at. Wobblers a malformation of the way the neck bones fit to the skull can cause lameness and pain. You can read about this here

If his elbow has not been checked then that should be checked too as elbow displasia is seen in the breed sometimes too. You can read about this here
