My 12 year old male 115lbs Golden has a $.50 size bloody/puss colaflour raised leason on his left hind hip; with localized inflamation, diet good, hair good, body temp good, no signs of distress he has been licking it    Customer (name blocked for privacy)@aol.com

You need to see a vet for a diagnosis on this one as he is a bit old for the benign histiocytoma but could have developed a tumor of some sort that is not benign.
Your vet can do a biopsy and see what it is. If its just a pressure sore it might be easily treated. If its a small tumor they may be able to remove it. But vet care in this case is the best bet.
