How old is she? Is it the front or back leg? Does she ever have to walk 3-legged? Any swelling at any time in that leg?

thank you so much for your help... she is a 4year old spade rotti and it is her front leg and no swelling and she walks on it fine. she just cries when she gets up once in a while not all the time. it is almost like if she gets up the wrong way. but she is walking fine. did not know if there was anything i could do for her. she lets me rub it for her but if i touch the back to hard she cries. it is between her elbow and her ankle in the back of the front leg.

thanks again

ACCEPTED Check Mark

It may be she strained the tendon or pulled the muscle that runs from her elbow to her carpus or 'wrist'. This may have happened when she jumped off the bed and hyperextended that joint. If there is no swelling or heat back there it shouldn't take long to feel better. If it doesn't improve over the next week or gets worse, you might take her in to get it checked for any joint or bone involvement.
