My dog has worms and over the counter remedies only lessen them. The are white and look like living rice, only longer and larger.

Unfortunately it sounds like you are seeing tapeworm segments and there are not any good over the counter medications - you need vet meds and flea prevention to resolve this. You can probably resolve the tapeworm problem with Cestex or Droncit and for fleas you may want to use Frontline or Advantage. Fleas are an interim host to the tapeworms which is why they need to be eradicated too to end reinfection.

wish I could have given you a home remedy but vet meds are often the safest and the best!
