my 10 mo. old basset got spayed, and has a small bump by the incision...the dr. said it may be a blood clot that is slow to heal.....have you heard of this?

REPLIED Check Mark

Yes. This is pretty common following a spay. Keep an eye on it and you will probably see it start to dissipate over the next few days.

If it lasts longer than a few days, you will want to see your vet to have them take a look.

Let me know if you still have questions.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

You are more than welcome! If the vet has seen it and is not concerned, you are probably in the clear. These lumps are pretty common following a spay.
