RETINA DETACHMENT
Sent to Pet Experts June 27 11:35 AM

I found my cat yesterday (Sunday) (06/26/05)after not seeing him since the past Wednesday (06/22/05) morning; this was unusual for him because he always comes home at least once a day to eat. Anyway, I found him and realized that he could not see - I took him to the vet and was told that he has bleeding in his left eye - retina detachment - due to, we suspect, head trauma. There are no skull fractures. My question is this - do you recommend surgery to repair the eye or should I take a "wait and see" approach. The vet tells me that because he is only one year old that the eye may repair itself. thank you.
