blood in poop

Sent to Pet Experts June 18 11:18 PM

2 yr. old red minpin, has almost daily siezuers, small for her breed, our vet said to small for any kind of meds. Has had lots of health problems thru out 2 years, vet says it is most likey due to her being the "runt" of the litter. Now she is having diarerra with blood in it, two days. Today she wont eat. But appears to be her wild self, Not in any kind of pain. I am afraid to take her to our vet because I feel they will tell the same thing, there is nothing they can do, and that we should put her down. What do you think?

Bloody diarrhea is usually caused by an unknown parasite problem rather than a life threatening issue. I suggest that you see the vet for a fecal exam to rule out parasites, coccidia and giardia.

This might be something that is easily treatable to so I would not even worry too much until you see the vet.

Let me know if you still have questions.
