Question

Bladder control problem

Sent to Pet Experts May 14, 2005 10:48 p.m.

My 8 lb toy poodle has been wetting all over the bed, couch & us while we are holding her. She is completly housebroken & never has accidents. I started her on antibiotics thinking she had a bacterial infection, which she gets several times a year, when she drinks lake water. She had also thrown up all night 3 evenings ago but was fine the next morning, so I did not take her to the vet until a day later, because the wetting was still occurring. They got urine, stool & blood samples at my request & everything checked out good. Today, she was laying beside me on the couch & I picked her up to hold & she had wet on herself again & was still laying in it. What could it be & where do I go now? This is not a behavioral problem. This is a perfectly behaved dog. She goes to work & everywhere else with me every day & never causes a minutes trouble. She is show quality. The only health problems she has are an occasional infection & she did have surgery for bladder stones about 7 months ago. She is only 3 and a half years old. She was spayed at about 7 or 8months of age. HELP! We love her so much. She is our child & we are worried sick.

Were X rays done to see if she had any more bladder stones?

No the vet did not do x-rays. I asked him if this could be the problem & he pressed & poked all over her stomach & said he did not feel any bladder stones.
