how will i know if my herman tortoise is ready for breeding?

Hi i only have 1 tortoise and i know for sure that it is a female and because i am going to get another tortoise which i will probaly get a male then i would hope that they would breed but the only problem if that my tortoise is 3 years of age and i think that is too young for it to breed so thats why i asked you how will i know if my tortoise is ready to breed.
