We have had a 'found' turtle (western painted - approx. 8" long) living in our backyard pond for three years with no problems.We are in Southern California. It was attacked
We have had a 'found' turtle (western painted - approx. 8" long) living in our backyard pond for three years with no problems.We are in Southern California. It was attacked (
(by a raccoon we think) , as we found it upside down out of the pond and he is now missing all his limbs. Although he will not eat today, he is alert and seems to be responsive.
Are they able to re-grow the limbs, like reptiles can re-grow other parts of bodies? I can't find anyone who seems to know this.
What suggestions do you have for caring for a quadriplegic turtle?
