A young chiwawa(forgive spelling) Jack Russell mix started leaking a week after lazer spay. Will this resolve itself, or is this permanent? The holistic vet that performed this surgery had explained to the owner, that the way the surgery would be done would prevent incontinence. To date, the leaking has continued for several days.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

This is not normal, even after a spay. If it does not start to resolve within a week or so following the surgery, your vet can give you a medication to tighten the urinary sphincter and this should solve your problem.

So - keep an eye on it and see the vet or you could probably just give him a call over the phone and describe what's happening.

Let me know if you still have questions.

Am I understanding correctly, this should NOT be a permanent situation of incontinence? Can you please tell me why the leakage happened in the first place, and why it happened a week after the lazer spay?
