Reply to Theresa's Post: There is no discharge.Recently my husband started putting cardboard on the bottom of the cage because we moved the rabbit into a large dog cage because he weighs over 10 pounds. He has been ripping up the cardboard. The rabbit has been eating & drinking. He eats carrots, greens, timothy hay, pellets & rabbit treats. He lives in the house.

There are a few illnesses that cause sneezing in rabbits. He may have an upper respiratory infection caused by a bacterial infection. I don't think the cardboard would have much to do with the sneezing unless it is old and had a lot of dust in the corragated areas. Dusty living areas and a lot of sniffing of the bedding can cause sneezing especially if little particles of bedding gets up in the nostrils. With him eating well and doing great otherwise I would recommend monitoring him for the next few days. If he does develop discharge then it is time to visit the vet to have the discharge cultured for bacteria. I would also recommend an exam in 1 week if the sneezing continues even if there is no discharge present as this can indicate possible infection, growth in the sinuses, or even tooth or mouth issues.

Please let me know if further assistance is needed.
