ACCEPTED Check Mark

With the loss of the foal and lack of stimulation from the foal...the milk will dry naturally.  I usually do not recommend medications because of the side effects.

Watch for infection...with mammary tissue with will become firm as the teats become engorged and may drip...but the milk cells get the message and decrease production until complete drying occurs. The presence of milk is an open invitation to bacteria...so make sure that the teats dont become reddened/swollen/hot and painful. IF that is seen antibiotics may be needed.

Good LUCk,

DR.V
