Question

torsion/blout

Sent to Pet Experts January 04, 2005 8:34 a.m.

I have recently purchased a bloodhound pup, he has been hicupping before he goes to sleep, wakes up acting as if he is going to throw up, but doesn’t, snores very loudly, is very restless when he goes to sleep-changes positions frequently. I know that bloodhounds can easily get torsion/blout, am concerned that he has this. Are these symptoms or something that I should be concerned about? Have had several dogs, never seen this behavior before. He also hords food in his mouth as if he is a chipmunk-drops throughout house. Please advise.

How old is he? When he acts as though he's going to vomit...does he? Is it digested food if he does?
