Hi THere,
Have you had the dog's feces tested for internal parasites? The dog may be acting ravenous because worms are robbing him of his nutrition. Also, worms can cause a lot of gas, as does 'gulping' down food, which might be making the dog tender and painful in the abdomen and could account for the shaking. Also, pain can cause fever. Please consult with a trip to a vet.
Good Luck,
Dr. Katie

We received the dog two days ago. We planned to have his shots, and check-up monday. He is about 5" tall, VERY thin, no molars, yet. Eats anything given, but only a small amount. He "robbed" a pork-bone, small, from the other dog, (doxie mix, very healthy, all shots, about 10" tall). I thought "radar" had swallowed a piece of bone, and it was poking him inside the stomach, causing him to cry out.
The temperature is not known, however when he is quiet, his temp is near normal, and when the fever strikes, it is very apparent.
He is "wall-eyed".
