Hi Jen. Something like this would not normally come up that quick. Are you positive it was not there yesterday? Have you felt of it to see if it feels as if it's fluid filled or are you saying it only looks that way? Is it in the area directly behind the lower beak or is it in an area that is feather covered? There is a spot right behind the lower mandible that is fleshy and never has feathers growing from it. Is that the spot that is swollen? Can you take a close look and tell me if there seems to be any bleeding, or dried blood or any kind of injury? Before looking, wash your hands with an antibacterial soap and rinse them well, just in case. If there is any break in the skin, you don't want to raise the risk of infection. You are saying she is less than one year old? If so, how many months and how long have you had her? Please tell me everything that is in her dailey diet. Also, does she have any kind of toys that have any wooden parts for chewing? This extra information will help me give you my best advice and guidance. Thanks, Patricia
