My pekingese mix has a hard abdomen and yelps when moving.

My pekingese mix has a hard abdomen and yelps when moving. She paces when moving around and holds her head up when lying down. This has happened 3 times withing 2.5 months. Her appetitie is ok. She's had some gastirc problems thru the years ( 9 yrs old ) but giving her Pumpkin with her food has always helped.
