What can I give my seven year old Corgi for a tooth ache? He was playing ball and hit the rightside of his face on a rock He ate his dinner but now he seems to be in pain.

Hi,

I share your concern for your dog. Thanks for asking this important question. Dogs cannot take Tylenol, Motrin, Aleve or any other non-steroidal anti inflammatory other than aspirin. The other drugs can cause severe liver problems in dogs.

The dose of aspirin to give for a 50 pound dog is about 250 mg. You can figure 125 mg for a 25 pound dog. Aspirin comes in 81 mg so for your dog, you could give 3 of those if he is about 25 pounds.

Please give it on a full stomach or at least with some food.
