hoof boot for horses
Sent to Pet Experts August 10 05:17 PM

I was looking in an old UK (1950ish) horsemans manual for horse boots to protect the horse hoof. The item I am looking for is called a Caulking Boot.
Q. Does anyone still make a caulking boot and if so can I get one?

Optional Information:
Age: >12; Male; Breed: Horse Hanovarian

Reply to Tammy's Post: The caulking boot would cover the face of the hoof. My horse has repetativaly sliced the coronet band of his left hind hoof with the corks from the right hind shoe. The face of the left hoof is heavely damaged and the hoof is splitting from the coronet band to the toe. I have removed the corks from the hind shoes however with winter coming in the north I will have to put them back in. I just want to protect the hoof from further damage from the corks.
