Sent to Pet Experts June 27, 2006 10:59 a.m.

Just noticed yesterday when I went and rode my horse for the first time in a long time, that in the sun light you can see these brown growth spots that almost covers her entire black pupil on both eyes. When I looked at one of my sisters horses she had the brown growth spots too, but extremely smaller and only around the top ring of her pupil.
Is this normal? What is it?
Thank-you

I am trying to picture this as I don't recall seeing this in my own horses. HOWEVER, I have seen a large number of lumps and bumps on the cornia, or the third eye or the eye ball itself, and they are usually white, grey or blue in nature. Can you be more specfic? I almost think this is a light relection that increases the size. If you are not in the sunlight, can you see if this is raised bumps on the lens itself? I really am not sure how to answer until I can get a better handle on the size, placement etc. Does the horses site semmed impaired? Do you see a large number of fly bites near the tear ducts so that this would be a larva issue?
