Antibiotic type and dosage information.

My cat was injured, possibly bitten by an oppossum. There are two small holes in her face(center of left cheek). Apparently an infection set in and today the larger of the two wounds began draining. My question is, "Can I give my cat antibiotics to help her overcome this, and if so how much of what"?
I am living on an extremely tight budget ($0), and cannot afford a $65 charge for the visit to the clinic.
Please advise me on this matter, and I will get her to the local vet's office next week when I receive my monthly SSI payment.
