We just adopted a Jack Russel who was abused and starved.

We just adopted a Jack Russel who was abused and starved. He is starting to gain weight and appears to love his new home.... he is approx 6 years old. I noticed today that he ate the "poop" from our other Jack Russel... Oh my! I was shocked. Why did he do this? And how do you cure this?
