I have a 15 yr old male neutered feline. No change in diet or home but chronic and lasting diarhea. He has dropped all excess poundage he can afford to lose. Prior to this I could always treat him with Pepto. Doesn't work. Please help.

Optional Information:
Age: >12; Male; Breed: American long hair

Already Tried:
Pepto

Relist: I still need help. I have no money.
Length of time: 3 months
Weight lost: 4.5# (Down to just over 4#. At his prime he averaged 16# but has stayed a 9# for the last 5 yrs.)
Stools are mustard colored; high odor; sludge - no form. This is true no matter what he ingests. Lives on steady diet of Purina Cat Chow with another dry food as 'treat'. Raised from Purina Kitten Chow to Cat Chow. I will do without to buy good food for my pets. They can't go out to eat if I don't provide nutrition.
At first, weight loss very slow. Now even his fur has been affected. Thinning, doesn't shine.
Gums pink, teeth appear OK with some plaque. Don't appear tender when pushed.
Eyes bright, clear, white.
