I have a little 4 yr old shi-tzu. this evening I noticed that one of her eyes looks kind of green and teeny tiny bit cloudy. Could this be a reaction to the high pollen count? Do you have any suggestionsl Your help will be very appreciated. Thanks! Heather

Do you mean that she has green discharge?

No. Sorry for not clarifying that. When you look at her, her right eye is dark brown, which is normal. When you look at her left eye, it almost looks as though there is a clear shield over her eye & deep in the shield it looks dark green. Does that make sense?

Yeah. Some people even describe it as looking blue or simply hazy. I would definitely want to get a good ocular exam as soon as you can. This breed is prone to eye issues which can quickly become serious. This does not sound like allergies.

Some other possibilities might include a corneal ulcer, a corneal abrasion, an eye infection or even glaucoma.

So, go ahead and get that eye exam as soon as you can.

Let me know if you want to discuss this more.
