I have a 3 year old Chihuahua. Today he became very shaky ...

I have a 3 year old Chihuahua. Today he became very shaky and awkward. Also his movements are very rapid almost as though he is extremely nervous. We have stairs and normally it's no problem for him to get up them, however it seems as though he's never seen them before. He is stumbling down them and up them. His pupils are extremely large. And he won't calm down. He did drink some chocolate milk that was unattended. Will he get over it? Should I take him to a vet?
