our yr old female pit bull has been grabbing a blanket on

Our 1 yr old female pit bull has been grabbing a blanket on the couch and kneading it and sucking on it. this began 2 days ago. She was not raised by her mother, we syringe fed her from birth because she had a cleft lip and 1 eye (her mom pushed her away) She is not around other dogs Dominanat,doesn't like other dogs) loves her people and all people in general, very friendly. Why would she suddenly begin nursing on a blanket.
