our female is 3 weeks bred (bred Nov.4 ) should she have hard nipples at this point

Usually the nipples pop out and may be a bit stiff as they protrude but the mammary glands should not be hard, or hot, or lumpy, or painful.

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: okay let me see if i understand this .. sorry.. this is normal. and nothing to worry about.. they are not hot or lumpy just little nobs and hard around the edges.. like she is starting a milk line.. but just being bred 3 weeks i wasnt sure if this was normal or not

Yes the nipples just pop up a bit bigger which is one indication there is a pregnancy going on. Usually its just enough to make you go wow the belly feels different :) when you rub it.
I'm thinking you have a dog but its true in cats too.
