The diet change is good if your dog is showing kidney signs.
You should be careful about the urine your dog produces. Lepto can be spread through urine.
You should make sure rodents cannot get into any dog food contaminating it with urine.
Yes you and the other dogs can pick this up. You might want to test the other dogs for this.
You can read more on this disease in people here
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dbmd/diseaseinfo/leptospirosis_g.htm
If you have a rodent problem in your area getting rid of as many rodents as possible will reduce the risks for your pets.
Hope this helps you!

WE DO NOT HAVE A RODENT PROBLEM AT ALL. IS IS POSSIBLE SHE (ITS A FEMALE) HAS HAD THIS BEFORE I GOT HER?? I'VE HAD HER SINCE SHE WAS 10 WEEKS OLD. SHE HAS ALSO HAD THE VACCINE, COULD SHE HAVE GOTTEN THE LEPTO FROM HER VACCINE?? SHE HAS ALSO BEEN URINATING IN HER SLEEP. I HAVE THREE YOUNG CHILDREN THAT I AM WORRIED ABOUT. SHOULD I GO AS FAR AS TO GET THEM CHECKED?

She might have had the lepto before you got her.
She might have eaten a mouse or drunk from a contaminated puddle too.
I'd check the other dogs and if they are not sick then worry less about it.
Now she is on the medication contamination should be eliminated as a possibility.
Unfortunately the vaccine only covers some strains of the disease not all of them. Apparently there are strains that the vaccine doesn't cover in your area.
If you are concerned about your children I'd call your pediatrician's office and ask for a suggestion on how to cope with this.
Do read the CDC link I gave you to see what poses a danger and what to watch for.
I'd be tempted to use bleach or lysol and wash the dogs bedding and maybe if you have a fenced yard use a hose end applicator to spray bleach at a rate of one part bleach in 30 parts water over the area just as a general prevention.
