Question

Floopy Ears

Sent to Pet Experts August 08, 2005 1:50 p.m.

I have an 11 week old Min Pin and he has cute floppy ears. Will his ears stay that way if I don't crop them. Is there anything else I can do to assured that they stay floppy?

Thanks!

They will stay floppy unless you opt to clip them. Pinchers are born with floppy ears but many people have them clipped so that they stand.

If you like the floppy ears, you can certainly leave them that way!

Let me know if you still have questions.

So the ears usually don't stand on their own if they are left uncropped or not taped? I've seen pictures of uncropped ears that seem to be standing. Is that probably because they were taped up even though they were not cropped?

Yes. That is correct. The only reason that they would stand is if they were made to do so, either by taping them or by clipping.
