constant biting herself

hi i have a 6 year old american pit and she has a calous on her rear leg on the upper portion of her paw and she is biting it and making it bleed i have been putting a basitraion on it and bandadging it up but she keeps biting the bandage off what is it and should it be removed thank you tc
