puffy cheeks
Sent to Pet Experts May 11 12:38 AM

we took my pit bull to see my mother in the country sunday. We tied him out on a runner for a while, supervised, when we took him off one of his eyes was red but he seemed to be fine. He was okay until Monday night then his cheeks puffed up and both his eyes were red. He has trouble swallowing and the swelling went all the way under his chin. It felt like a lot of tiny air bubbles under his skin. Took him to the urgent care, they gave him an anti inflamatory and said to watch him he may have strangled his self. He has been very active and has been eating and drinking but the airbubbles are still there some. But, most of the swelling is gone. They gave me some eye ointment this moring when i took him back for a check up by his vet. All they said was to watch him. They don't seem to know what made his skin have all the little bubbles in them or to swell up like that. No pucture wounds. Best i can figure is that he may have pulled too hard on the runner while we were at my mother's. Any suggestion on where the bubbles came from? Will they go away?
