Rotweiler (hemroids?)
Sent to Pet Experts September 09 04:32 PM

I am in need of answers to a serious medical problem. One of our dogs is a Rottie about 8/9 years old. She is slightly overweight and doesn't get around quite as well as when she was younger, but is good health for her age. When she went outside yesterday after I got home from work, she had a hemroid type problem about the size of a tennis ball. It was fairly dry (not bleeding) and seemed not not be painful Since this is the weekend and a visit to the vet would be costly, I am concerned about what to do. Today she is bleeding somewhat when she gets up from napping. The area is laying on the papers beneath her and I think that anything under her would irrate the area. We will not be able to afford a vet's visit until Thursday but, if necessary, we could try to borrow money to go to an emergency visit. She still does not seem to be in pain, does not try to lick the area, but I am worried about what will occur when she needs to go to the bathroom. Will fecial matter or pressure when trying to go cause the area to tear causing her to loose alot of blood? Please help! What should we do? Is this a hemroid or infected anal sac? What are your thoughts? I am worried out of my mind as to money and her health.

Reply to Gen B.'s Post: She has naver had anything done with her sexual organs/ never been spayed. Upon closer inspection, it is NOT from her rectum but from her vagina. Will she need an operation? Is this more a more serious problem? Is it in need of emergency help? Thank you for your quick responce.
