I have never had a bird for a pet so please forgive me if this is a basic question for you. Our Gouldian Finches had three babies about two or three weeks ago. Today I came home from work and one of the babies is out of the nest. Is this the normal time frame for a baby to get out and stay out of the nest? Is there anything I am supposed to do for the baby now that it is out of the nest? I am just afraid that the baby will not be able to get back into the nest tonight and the parents may ingore it. Can you please provide some advice. Thank you.

Hi Lefty. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. For tonight, go ahead and very gently replace the baby in the nest. Keep check on it to determine if the parents are still feeding it or if it ends up out of the nest again. Let me know in the morning how it has gone and then we will go from there. Thanks, Patricia
