I purchased two Netherland dwarfs for my kids at the beginning of April this year. We thought we were getting 2 females as they were going to be sharing a cage. But the other night my son's rabbit mounted my daughter's rabbit. We tried determining my son's rabbits sex and it appears he is a he, not a she.

Is there anything special I should be doing or how long does it take for her to give birth.

These two rabbits cage is in the house.

Thank you.

Hi,

It seems you are going to have new family members. Unless you plan to seperate these two furbabies you will, no doubt, encounter this problem again in the future. The first thing I suggest is to contact the pet store you got them from and see if they would be willing to take the babies once they are old enough unless you are planning to keep them. I am sending you several links on bunnys and their breeding habits. It should help you prepare for your upcoming litter.

Gestation is approximately 31 days from the day of breeding.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need additional information.
