my hampster is about 7 months old. She is a medium size hampster. recently, my daughter and I thought her face looked crocked. This morning it appears that the one side of her face is either swallen or there is a grouth of some sort. Please help me as we are very attached to this little girl.

yes the lump is under the skin ,her eye is closed and the entire mouth is on the side. She normally sleeps on the chips but we have put in some of that soft stuff.
I don't know how; but she is eating and drinking. Also I have not touched it so I don,t know if it is hard on soft.
I have had a many hampster thru the years and have never seen anything like this. Also her breathing is somewhat louder.
WHAT COULD THIS POSSIBLY BE?
