(Not a Pet Question?)

middle ear infection
Sent to Pet Experts June 22 06:18 PM

Hi,

We adopted a dog from the MI Humane Society about 1 1/2 months ago. We adopted him fully knowing that he was being treated for an ear infection. The humane society offers a 10 day health plan so we did not anticipate any out of pocket costs for his infection. Well, after 3 visits back to the Humane Society vet they have decided that he has a middle ear infection and unfortunately it is too costly for them to treat him. We cannot understand their position on this matter. They have offered to allow us to return our dog for a full refund but at this point, that is out of the question. Obviously, we have fallen in love with our beloved pet and cannot "just give him back" at this point.

My question is how much is this surgery to clean out the middle ear and what are the costs for meds and follow up care?
