Duck that falls over and cannot stand
Sent to Pet Experts June 19 03:27 PM

My daughter has a pet duck that is 3 months old. About a 3 weeksh ago it was favoring itsright leg. It became more difficult for it to walk so we keep it inside for a few days until we saw imporvement. We let it outside after it was not hopping as much. After it swam in its pool for a while it had trouble getting out.   When it finally got out it caught it's lleft leg betwen the pool and a crack in the ground. It did not seem to be hurt at the time. About a week ago we had to carry him to the pool becuse he had difficult walking. We had to place it in the pool and take him out. On Saturday my daughter allowed him to swim for about 3 hours. it is fine when it is in the pool with no sign of injury.   When she brought it back in the house it could not stand or sit up. It would fall and role over on its back with his legs and wing he is trying to right himself. Even when he is sat up he continues to fall over. His legs move fine but i believe his hips can't support its weight. It may have dislocated of broke its hips in the crack between the pool or trying to get out of the pool because the water was low. It seems to be in pain if the hips are touched. What can we do?
