my pet has small lumps that are turning into soars that are like a hole in his skin.... could it just be a reaction to a new shampoo?

cleaning the areas with peroxide and neosporen and bath with just water and mild pet soap

Did the sores appear since you started using a new shampoo? Did the sores appear immediately after the bath? What is the shampoo? Where are the lumps? Are they painful to him? Do they get larger and rupture? Do the sores drain fluid?
