i just bought a parakeet from the pet store on ...

i just bought a parakeet from the pet store on 04/17/06 and i still have not seen it eat yet should i take the bird back to the pet store. i have had a parakeet before but this to me just isnt normal. and i thought that it was odd that when i bought the bird the pet store person told me to watch the bird and make sure that it doesnt lose weight. i know that the move from the pet store to my home can be tramatic but this is unreal and i feel that something is not right.

How old is this bird supposed to be? Did they tell you the exact weight of the bird when you bought it so you could keep an eye on it and do you have a gram scale so that you can do frequent weight checks. Did they tell you what the bird has been eating at the store? This information and anything additional you may think of will help me give you my best possible advice. Patricia
