hi, my daughter has a panda hamster. It seems to have some kind of illness, but we're not sure what it is. He's constantley digging and all the areas that have no fur are covered with a hard white flakey surface. At first we thought it was an allergic reaction, but his bedding is the same type since we got him and so is his diet. Then I thought it was Mites. So i went to the local pet shop and got some spray.Gave him a bath, cleaned out his cage, and sprayed him down. It still was'nt the problem. We called the vet and he said to bring him in.But it's going to cost anywhere from 50.00 to 100.00 dollars. We don't have that kind of money right now.So this is where i'm at.Could you PLEASE give me some kind of resourcful feedback.Thank you.. Henry
