Question

Hello, I was illegally evicted from my home a week ago

Sent to Pet Experts January 17, 2006 5:52 p.m.

Hello,

I was illegally evicted from my home a week ago and my 5 year old cat was forcibly put into a shelter before I found out what happened. He stayed there 2 days before I could get him and take him to a friend of mine's house (who he has stayed with before), where we are staying until the eviction is overturned.

He has always been a very friendly cat, even with strangers, but now he is very fearful, hardly eats (whereas he was a voracious eater before) and freaks out if someone comes over to my friend's. He won't cuddle with me and instead of sleeping with me in my armpit (his usual position), he hides in the closet all night.

What should I do? How can I make him feel better? I would appreciate it if anyone can give me any advice...Thanks

kind regards,
Amanda
