Question

i am going out of town for a few days and am having trouble

Sent to Pet Experts December 17, 2005 1:31 p.m.

I am going out of town for a few days and am having trouble finding someone to look after my guinea pig. Some friends offered but they have a big dog and a cat. Would it be better to leave my piggie home alone for a few days or let him stay with these people. I am not sure which scenario would be more stressful for him.

Age: <1; Male; Breed: guinea pig

How about having your friend come to your home at least once a day and care for your pet.
That would leave him safe at home but not risk him running out of food or water.
You can hire a pet sitter to do that too. Even though mostly they do dogs and cats they will do small animal care too. You can usually find bonded pet sitters in the phone book or paper and they charge by the visit time.
Hope this helps you!

Relist: I still need help.
It is not practical for this friend to come over daily and I cannot afford a pet sitter. I am not really worried about him running out of food or water but what about the Vit.c that he usually gets from fresh fruits?
