my daughter took her yr old german shepherd to emergency

My daughter took her 4 yr old German Shepherd to emergency this morning when she saw he could not get on his feet. The E.Vet said it appears there's spinal fusing and a possible disk problem as well. Help?

Yes this is something that can happen in this breed. If you happen to know the breeders of the dog you might want to let them know this has shown up in a pup out of their breeding.
