Already Tried:
he is only seven weeks of age and i'm unsure weather or not its too late to cut his tail but i also do not want him to look odd as an adult with a long tail since he is a pure breed

You can dock his tail but many people opt to leave it natural. If you want to save yourself some money, you can have it done at the same time as his neuter.

I truly think that they are much cuter with all their parts!

To specifically answer your question, it's hard on them the older they get.
