Ever since I found out that I was pregnant 4 months ago, our 7 year old German Shorthair Pointer has been getting into items in my book bags, and has even taken full bags of food (such as flour) from the kitchen shelves. He then proceeds to chew the articles up and leaves a mess in the house. What would the cause of this be? My father-in-law thinks it's because my smell has changed, but these articles have been around the house for at least a year.
