Question

Pet's passing.

Sent to Pet Experts September 13, 2005 6:00 p.m.

I just lost my beloved pet, Pumpkin, bichon frise. I am really having a difficult time with her passing. Every time when I hear her name, my tears roling down on my chicks. She was my angel. She was a perfect angel for me. Does dogs go to heaven? When I die, am I able to see her again? She passed on Aug. 14, 2005. Still It doesn't seems real to think she is gone forever. I have another dog, Bubba, springer spanial and chocolate lab mix. He is eight years old. He is as sad as myself. I wonder how long his sadness will be continue. There is nothing I can do for him not to be sad.

How sad for you to lose Pumpkin. If there was one wish I had, it would be that our beloved pet children would live as long as we do. I have had several of my family members pass over the years and it never gets easier. Just sitting here thinking about them now, my eyes are getting full. It takes a long time, but things do get better, the hurt will be less, and the joy of your time together will replace the grief. Bubba is sad for losing his friend, but I think he is more sad for you. He is feeling your sadness. Think of Bubba, he needs you to feel better. Maybe that thought can help lift you up. I know Pumpkin wants you to be strong for her friend.
If anyone deserves to go to heaven it's all the innocent little animals. I am sure all my little family will be waiting for me - if not, I won't be in heaven. So Pumpkin isn't gone forever, she is in your and Bubba's heart here on earth and she is waitng for you to be together again. Until then, I'm sure she wants both of you to be happy, and is so thankful she had you for her guardian.
