abscess

Sent to Pet Experts August 02 04:52 PM

What can be done at home for an abscess tooth in a cat's mouth. My cat has a swollen cheek and I believe it may be as abcessed tooth. He is eating but he is not acting like his normal self. We can touch the area. We tried to look inside his mouth and as best we can tell it may be a back tooth. He did not cry when we looked or touched the outside of his cheek. Is there anything I can do to help him besides take him to the vet?
